Features to know about

Built for Heavy Loads and Confident Towing: 6,005-lb Capacity

When you’re carrying serious weight, you want a wheel that’s not just strong but proven. This 17-1/2" x 6-3/4" hub-piloted steel wheel is rated for 6,005 lbs, giving it the backbone for heavy-duty hauling. The solid center design and non-chamfered bolt holes provide a snug, secure fit that holds up under demanding loads. It meets DOT specifications, so you can roll with confidence every time you hitch up.

Made to Handle Harsh Conditions: Black Powder Coat Over E-Coat Primer

If your trailer sees rough roads or wet conditions, corrosion resistance makes all the difference. This wheel’s e-coat primer and black powder coat finish keep rust at bay and maintain a clean look over time. Whether you’re parked near saltwater or rolling through humid climates, the protective layers help the steel stay solid and sharp-looking season after season.

Designed for Tight Clearances: -0.5" Offset for Better Frame Clearance

Sometimes clearance matters just as much as load capacity. The -0.5" offset positions the wheel slightly farther from the frame, giving extra space where it counts. That thoughtful geometry helps prevent rubbing while keeping the trailer tracking straight and stable on the highway.

Engineered for Precision Fit: Hub-Piloted with 8 on 6-1/2 Bolt Pattern

Fitment issues can slow down any project, but this wheel takes out the guesswork. The hub-piloted design centers securely on a 4.76" pilot diameter, while the 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern and 5/8"-18 wheel bolts lock it down tight. Built specifically for trailers with disc brakes, it’s made to connect cleanly and perform reliably trip after trip.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Got exactly what I ordered and it showed up right on time! Ordered one from the company that made my trailer and they sent totally wrong parts first, then once a rim did show up, it was the wrong rim. I should have ordered from etrailer from the start! The one I got from these guys was an exact match to my other four and less expensive than anywhere else. It's a good thing I got one as I had a blow out the next day and very early in my trip. I couldn't have gone on vacation without them.

Great fit and finish

I bought this wheel to have a spare for my H&H 16K deckover gooseneck. The offset was just slightly less than the factory wheels, but still fits great and has the same finish.

This rim is great. What I was really happy about, is that I accidentally forgot to add the express shipping and when I called I got right through to a real human who just did a quick charge for the extra shipping and got my product to me on the exact day they said! It was such a fast and easy process to fix my mistake and I really appreciated them doing it so easily! It kept our business running on time! Thank you!!!

  • Can I Use the Hub-Piloted Solid Center Wheel w -0.5" Offset AM32NR w/ 9/16" Lug Studs?
No, it still matters Mike. The Hub-Piloted Solid Center Wheel w -0.5" Offset item # AM32NR still relies on the lug nuts to center the wheel on the hub. Using 9/16" lug studs with 5/8" holes is going to cause wobble and you'll break those lug studs eventually. It may be possible to change your studs from 9/16" to 5/8" so long as the studs are drive-in, and the length and knurl/spline diameter needs to be the same. For example, if your studs are 2-3/4" long and have a 0.69" diameter spline...

  • Trailer Wheels Which Fit a 5/8" Wheel Stud
Currently the only other size wheels we have than the 17.5" # AM32NR which fits a 5/8" stud are dual wheels like the 16" # AM20790. You can consider switching to the Trailer Hub Wheel Stud # 7-223 so your axle can use a 9/16" wheel stud. You will need to verify the mounting hole size for your wheel studs to ensure this is the correct size.

  • 17-1/2" Wheel With 0 Or -0.5 Offset
Hi Robert! The 17-1/2" wheels are a bit more limited than other offerings, but I think you may be interested in the following two options: Americana Hub-Piloted Solid Center Wheel w -0.5" Offset - 17-1/2" x 6-3/4" - 8 on 6-1/2 - Black # AM32NR Americana Modular Wheel w/ -0.5 Offset - 17-1/2" x 6-3/4" Rim - 8 on 6-1/2 - Silver # AM22461 Yes, one is silver and the other isn't modular, but these would be the closest matches to the Americana # AM42NR you were looking at that have a -.5 offset....

  • Recommended Replacement Black Wheels for a Tow Master 14-D Equipment Trailer

  • Can I Get The Hub-Piloted Solid Center Wheel In Black With a Wheel Mounted on it
Thanks for your question, Larry. You’re in luck! We do have that wheel pre-mounted with a 215/75R17.5 tire. The part you’ll want is # TR72ZR, it’s the same rim you were looking at (# AM32NR), just already paired with the tire you need. Are you looking for replacements or possible upgrading your existing tire/wheels?

  • How Much Does The Americana Hub-Piloted Solid Center Wheel AM32NR Weigh?
Hi Chad! The Americana Hub-Piloted Solid Center Wheel w -0.5" Offset - 17-1/2" x 6-3/4" - 8 on 6-1/2 - Black # AM32NR weighs just under 44 pounds (43.7 pounds to be exact). So it's definitely heavy, but it's also heavy duty with its 6,005 pounds of capacity. Do you have a tire picked out for this already? The Taskmaster Provider HD 235/75R17.5 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range J # P35175 (which weighs 64.7 pounds) would match that 6,005 pound capacity and I think would be a very good...

  • Is There A 17-1/2" Wheel That Uses 1/2" Lugs?
Hi Ralph! The 17-1/2" wheels that we carry, like the Americana Hub-Piloted Solid Center Wheel w -0.5" Offset - 17-1/2" x 6-3/4" - 8 on 6-1/2 - Black # AM32NR you were looking at, will either have 9/16 or 5/8 lug hole sizes. To my knowledge, there are no options of 17-1/2" wheels on the market that use a 1/2" lug. I could be wrong on that though. Out of curiosity, what are you needing this for?
